I found an interesting article about the fabrication of swine flu vaccine. Although the point of this article is about the long time needed to make enough vaccines to cover USA, I am interested in the part that mentions technologies used for the fabrication of vaccines.

In one hand, the traditional method is based on innoculating eggs with the influenza virus. This method takes 20 to 24 weeks to deliver a vaccine. In the other hand, this article mentions a new cell-based method which deliver an influenza flu vaccine in 10 to 12 weeks. This method was developed by a company called Novavax. By the way, Novavax stock has soared an 80%.
